Terms of Service
This is the agreement between you (the parent installing SafeFeed for your family) and SafeFeed (a sole-proprietor operation in Colorado, USA, run by Etienne Hardre). I've tried to write it so you can actually read it. By using SafeFeed you agree to these terms.
What you can do with SafeFeed
You can use SafeFeed to share videos with members of your own household — your kids, your spouse, your kids' grandparents if you add them. Personal, non-commercial family use is what this is built for.
What you can't do
- You can't use SafeFeed to share videos with people who aren't members of your family. It's not a content distribution platform; it's a household tool.
- You can't share videos that infringe other people's copyrights or break the law. You're responsible for the videos you share — we just deliver them.
- You can't reverse-engineer the apps, scrape our backend, or try to access other families' data. (Our security rules will stop you, but, you know.)
- You can't use SafeFeed to target advertising at your kids, profile their behavior commercially, or otherwise turn it into an exploitative tool. That's the whole opposite of why this exists.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your account credentials safe. If your kid gets your password, that's between you and your kid — but we'd appreciate you using something better than "password123."
The parent account is the household admin. The parent is treated as the verifiable account holder for COPPA purposes — by signing up, you're confirming you're the legal parent or guardian of every child profile you create.
Subscriptions and billing
SafeFeed costs $4.99/month or $44.99/year, billed through Apple's App Store or Google Play. The first 30 days are free, no credit card required to start.
To cancel: open Apple's Subscriptions screen or Google Play's subscription settings and cancel from there. We don't have a way to cancel your subscription on our end — Apple and Google control that. We don't make you call us, send a fax, or watch a "wait don't go" sales pitch.
Refunds for the current billing period are at Apple's or Google's discretion under their refund policies. We'll back any reasonable refund request you make to them — email us at hello@safefeed.app if you need help.
Video content and copyright
SafeFeed downloads videos from third-party platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, X, Reddit) for delivery to your child's device. You — the parent doing the sharing — are responsible for whatever copyright considerations apply to that. Our position: this is private, household, non-commercial use of publicly-accessible content, which falls within the same fair-use space as personal viewing or family sharing offline. We're not redistributing content commercially.
If you're a copyright holder and you believe a SafeFeed user is sharing your content in a way that's not okay, email hello@safefeed.app. We honor takedown requests and will remove content from any user's history on receipt.
Service availability
We try hard to keep SafeFeed running, but we can't promise 100% uptime. If a video platform changes how their videos are delivered and our downloader breaks, you'll see it on the Status page and the parent app will tell you. We typically catch up within hours.
SafeFeed is provided "as-is." We don't guarantee it'll be available 24/7, that every video will download, that the apps will never crash, or that we'll never lose data despite our best efforts. We carry no liability for content delivery failures, missed family moments, or lost watch history.
Account termination
By you: Settings → Delete my family's data wipes everything within 30 days. Or email us, same effect.
By us: We can suspend or terminate your account if you're violating these terms — sharing other families' content, attempting to circumvent security, attempting to use SafeFeed for commercial distribution, etc. We'll usually email you first if there's any chance of resolution.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms materially we'll let you know in the parent app and ask you to acknowledge. Continued use after a material change means you accept the new terms.
Liability and disputes
To the extent allowed by law, SafeFeed's liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the dispute. SafeFeed is not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally goes to a Colorado state or federal court (or, if both parties prefer, individual arbitration).
If something doesn't make sense
